The fourth session of the East Bay Comprovisation Group is 7 PM Tuesday night, November 7, in Berkeley, details below. We meet weekly.
Our Website: LiveAndUnplugged.org
Recordings from past sessions:: LiveAndUnplugged.org/improv/
This group is a space where you can jam, improvise, and work on your compositions, find new insights, get past blocks, hear harmonies, basslines, and new rhythms to your tunes. More focused and friendly than OpenMic, or Noodle-Jamming fests. More fun and productive than working on your songs alone. The emphasis is on original works, but if you aren't working on any of your own songs, you are still welcome to join us and get into the groove. We record all the sessions in ProTools and put them up on the web for members to hear, so you can go home and transcribe stuff that worked or sparked ideas.
Special note for drummers: I have a new, six piece "Thumper Custom" maple kit with maple rims, a Gretsch snare and a sweet Bosphorous 20" dry ride, and a GONG ferchristsake, at my house, so if you want to come out and play, but don't feel like schlepping the drums, this is your night!
So if you'd like to be a part of this, please come on down, and bring your axe, and any charts you'd like to work on with the group. It's a really great chance to develop musical ideas for your pieces, especially if you are still working on them. It's also really good to hear what your stuff sounds like with other musicians additions and interpretations.
